We are recruiting for the position of Construction Estimator/Project Manager. We are a roofing, siding, painting and remodeling company located on the North Shore. We focus on residential and commercial projects in the Greater Boston area.We are seeking a candidate who is self-motivated, a quick learner, and works well within a team environment. The candidate must have excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, time management, and computer skills.Job Requirements:-- Knowledge in general construction industry is required.-- Excellent computer and estimating software program skills.-- Ability to read and understand project specifications, plans and blue prints, architectural plans and drawings.-- Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements for roofing, siding and painting quotations both commercial and residential.-- Responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, to ensuring successful bid of the project.-- Experience with materials, quality control, costs and techniques for maximizing project accuracy and profitability.-- Knowledge of a wide array of building materials in residential construction.-- Knowledge of design technique, principles and tools to complete project.-- Secures pricing, sets up and issues subcontracts for all comprehensive jobs.-- Maintains and reports timely and accurate information to management.-- Researches new and upcoming opportunities for viability and company fit.-- Knowledge of design technique, principles and tools to complete project.-- Performs other duties as required.-- Coordinate construction resources with management.-- Provide leadership and mentorship to field staff and subcontractors-- Oversee the organization, planning and scheduling of project initiatives for adherence to strict schedules, budgetary requirements, and quality specifications. Ability to read, produce, modify and execute project schedules is required.-- Read and understand technical details of plans and specs.-- Ensure that subcontractors are meeting schedule deadlines and budgetary constraints. Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of subcontractors and suppliers and take corrective action when necessary.-- Coordinate the work on site with the activities of inspection agencies as necessary.-- Communicate with Project Manager all relevant changes made at the construction site as well as any other material changes that will be required for reporting in connection with the final as-built plan and covered by general contract change orders and subcontract change ordersQualifications-- College degree preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of college degree required.-- Minimum 3 - 5 years previous related experience.-- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the construction industry.-- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively.-- Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with the field, management and clients alike.-- Must be proactive and solution oriented.-- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and self-management skills.-- A desire to work in a team environment and work collaboratively to get the job done
