CPS seeks an outstanding and forward-thinking Senior Instructional Technologist. Reporting to the Director of Academic Programs, the Senior Instructional Technologist’s core purpose is to support the growth and development of the RevU platform and the College of Professional Studies. This position typically applies advanced knowledge to work closely with clients to design, implement, and assess technology in teaching, specifically in the design and development of courses, course content, seminars, conferences, and related mediated learning activities with the RevU platform. The core responsibilities of this role are typically to provide learning and technology support and to guide faculty in developing technology skills, to recommend ways to integrate learning technologies into their pedagogy and to create course learning objects, and to provide technical, creative, and visual design support in integrating emerging technologies into offerings on the platform. This role will also oversee and serve as a system administrator for all website and learning management system-related inquiries and support. This position will independently interface with clients to identify, develop, and implement appropriate technology solutions for teaching and learning. This position will also provide technical and pedagogical support to faculty and designated points of contact to cover the effective and efficient use of advanced multimedia tools. It may also train and direct the work of other junior team members. This role may include research projects, scholarly activities, and publications, will design and build online learning modules, may produce and edit videos, and will assist in creating and using media. This is the highest non-managing Instructional Technology position.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Instructional Design & Curriculum Development
    • Provide instructional design support to subject matter experts and faculty
    • Creation of Multimedia
    • Adherence to Quality Matter guidelines for all curriculum
  • RevU Administration
    • WordPress page management, creation, and maintenance
    • RevU Learning Management System page management, creation, and maintenance
    • Creation of new course shells, webpages, and instances
  • Administrative Partnership Support and Tasks
    • Collaboration with RevU external partners as needed
    • Support of partnerships (internal and external) in terms of design and platform experience

This is a hybrid position with some days remote and some days in the office. The primary office location is in Arlington, VA with occasional meetings on the main campus in Washington, DC. Some local travel may be required for projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise with learning management systems. Specifically, RevU experience is highly desired.
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional technology and/or instructional design. Specifically, higher education is highly desired.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with clients to design, implement, and assess technology in teaching and the development of courses and course content for adult learners.
  • Strong communications and customer service skills.
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Hiring Range

$72,235.20 - $119,100.82
