Job DescriptionGilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As a Director, HIV Prevention Marketing you will report to the Senior Director, Marketing-HIV. Leading a team of one direct report, and mentoring a product manager marketing professional. This role will be responsible for leading and executing promotional initiatives for Gilead HIV therapies.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee execution of a comprehensive non-personal promotional strategy to support Prevention market growth.
Partner with global and internal stakeholders to shape the execution of innovative omnichannel and content creation capabilities that will propel Prevention for non-personal business objectives.
Provide subject matter expertise to guide and shape the short and long-term integration of novel technologies/capabilities that individualize customer strategy and promotional execution.
Partner with analytics and agency partners to continually evaluate NPP performance insights and optimize tactical execution.
Develop the NPP omnichannel (POA) in partnership with HCP promotional team.
Develop and lead key elements of the promotional brand strategy aligned to the brand campaign.
Drive execution through the management and partnership with external agencies, internal cross-functional partners, and field sales. Regularly measure the success of initiatives.
Implement product promotional communication strategy for HCP promotions ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy.
Gain approval for marketing materials through internal review process through Promotional Review Committee (PRC).
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Leadership Legal, Regulatory, Medical and other key internal stakeholders.
Analyze complex brand opportunities and provide logical recommendations; lead any required action planning.
Ensure that all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Manage the professional marketing budget and project timelines.
Support 1 direct report; partner and mentor a product manager marketer.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:Required:
12+ years of experience.
Track record of successful pharmaceutical/biotech marketing.
Proven ability to leverage market insights from multiple data sources, including market research, advisory boards and field force input to uncover needs and develop opportunities.
Experience in strategic brand development and in leading brand plans for late lifecycle products.
Experience with marketing strategy, sales and regulatory policies and practices.
Ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans.
Proven ability in the execution of multiple/complex initiatives within the marketing mix which require tactful cross-functional execution.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to efficiently and productively communicate to a variety of groups and audiences.
Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials.
Ability to successfully work with external agencies, including advertising, public relations and medical education vendors to develop programs and materials.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking.
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree and 10 years of experience or PhD and 8 years of experience.
Preferred:
MBA or other advanced business degree.
HIV Therapeutic Area knowledge and/or Antiviral.
Previous pharmaceutical/biotech sales and/or sales management experience is a plus.

The salary range for this position is: $221,170.00 - $286,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
