If you have already applied there is no need to reapply.ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS!Classification Study NoticeThis position is currently undergoing review as a part of the IT Project job class study and therefore both the title and the pay range assigned may be subject to change upon the completion of the study.The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Fairbanks International Airport is looking for a full-time long-term nonpermanent Microcomputer/Network Specialist 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!This position will accrue personal leave, enjoy 11 paid holidays a year, as well as have the option of health insurance and other benefits.What you will be doing:This position entails hands-on administration support for State of Alaska employees, focusing on managed hosts, FAI's Windows and Linux servers, and network infrastructure, alongside cybersecurity maintenance. As a division expert, it oversees automation systems for various airport functions and manages network administration for Fairbanks International Airport, including analysis, planning, and coordination with external agencies, and provides backup support for the Network Administrator.Minimum Qualifications:Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations.Information Assurance: Knowledge of methods and procedures to protect information systems and data by ensuring their availability, authentication, confidentiality, and integrity.Systems Integration: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components.Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem.Special Note:A valid driver's license is required for this position. It is preferable to have networking and application certifications from Microsoft and/or Cisco.
