ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS!The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) International Airport Systems Office is looking for an Accountant 5 (Assistant Controller) to help us Keep Alaska Moving!What you will be doing:In this role, you'll take charge of essential financial functions that keep our organization running smoothly. You'll lead the preparation of key financial statements like income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, all while ensuring they meet GAAP standards. Your expertise in financial analysis will help guide important decisions, as you'll present your findings and recommendations directly to the Controller. You'll also play a crucial role in developing the annual budget, tracking financial performance, and adjusting as needed. Beyond that, you'll ensure we stay compliant with regulations, maintain strong internal controls, and support audit preparations and risk management. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to shape and improve our financial policies, aligning them with our goals and regulatory requirements to drive our success forward.Who we are looking for:We are looking for a candidate who can work in a collaborative environment, possesses the core job class competencies listed in the minimum qualifications below and some or all of the following competencies:Auditing:
