The manager should be knowledgeable in aerospace and/or military inspection requirements and will report directly to the site Product Assurance Manager. In this role, the Quality Manager collaborates with manufacturing and engineering functions to ensure quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have extensive prior experience with manufacturing, maintenance or inspection assurance activities. The candidate will be required to have strong collaboration skills and demonstrated capability to partner cross-discipline/cross-function. As a key leader, partner and essential member of the Sunnyvale site leadership team, the Quality Manager 2 will lead a high performing QC inspection team to support company operations.Role and Responsibilities:Provides overall management of Quality Control (QC) inspection teams by setting and operating to objectives, and providing guidance to direct reports based on goals, objectives, and company policy.Collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to ensure quality is inherent in every requirement, design, work product, and end-product delivered by Northrop Grumman.Engages on the shop floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring personnel in quality methods and procedures.Leverages metrics, as well as customer and employee feedback to assess quality performance and risks and drive continuous improvements.Interfaces with customer representatives, including on-site DCMA representatives, concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual obligations.Maintains compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications and customer requirements.Provide performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct reports.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years' experience or 9 years of relevant work experience (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).Excellent oral and written communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Ability to manage both salaried and hourly employees.Ability to successfully engage on the shop floor to provide solutions and coach and mentor others in the use of quality principles and practices.Ability to lead continuous improvement activities.Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment and can demonstrate a high level of understanding of activities related to inspection and Quality Assurance. Is a decisive decision maker.Demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated technical issues.Demonstrated experience in inspecting products and structures.U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).Proficient with MS Office.Ability to travel up to 10%.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in an Operations or Quality management or lead role.Experience managing teams performing Dimensional inspections.Prior experience working with union employees.Salary Range:
$125,500 - $188,300The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
