Hybrid within MA, CT, RI, VT, NYPurpose/Objective

:Oversees the Bank’s Fair Lending Activities to ensure the company is meeting (and treating equally) the needs of all individuals in the Bank’s lending and servicing portfolio. Work diligently to align business goals, Fair Lending performance and team-to-team collaboration to ensure performance context is robust and thorough. Work with the CRA/Fair Lending team to create strategies that will help the Bank meet/exceed goals to achieve and maintain a fair credit environment for all applicants and borrowers. This includes, but is not limited to, assessing, through the use of reports, how well the Bank delivers outreach for credit to all communities. The Fair Lending Officer will create action items with all LOBs to help review any and all statistical findings as well as oversee quality control of the data utilized in these assessments. The position is the liaison between all lines of business at the Bank and the compliance team; facilitating consistent and equal performance to ensure the respective impact on the community. The Fair Lending Officer will help create, implement, or review any product, policy or procedure that does not align with the values of inclusion and equality as stated in the Fair Lending Policy. They will co-lead the FLEX Committee with the SVP CRA & Fair Lending Officer and include in these meetings all areas within the bank that may reflect higher than expected fair lending risk. They will help with the maintenance and development of CRA assessment areas and in cooperation with CRA Committee make recommendations for changes or updates.Key Accountabilities

:Monitor key reporting efforts including but not limited to HMDA & CRA. Collect data and provide comprehensive reports to management and regulators as to the programs in effect, the fair lending risk associated with any of the programs. Prepare ongoing Fair Lending Risk self-assessments along with the bi-annual Redlining Risk Assessment to manage the Bank’s performance, gauge compliance, and implement strategies where shortfalls exist.Import monthly or quarterly data files into the CRA software. Collaborate with the LOB to eliminate errors and ensure quality control. Maintain community development folder including all applicable supportive documentation.Oversee quarterly FLEX Committee meetings during which fair lending quarterly reports are viewed to ensure the Bank is maintaining adequate levels risk within the lending lines of the Bank.Interact with LOB leaders, as needed, to analyze current findings, action items that are required, follow up with all items to ensure completion.Develop programs, maintain, and provide on-going training and support to each region in all areas affecting fair lending and/or redlining. Maintain action items for each LOB where applicable.Stay informed and updated on all current trends regarding Fair Lending findings and/or changes.Work collaboratively with CRA Officer for reports, data analysis, mapping and any other assessments required by department heads as applicable.Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.Education:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience requiredOngoing CRA and Fair Lending training to stay current with laws and regulationsExperience:Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Compliance, CRA or Fair Lending field or related area of statistical analysis.Experience working for a performance driven organization, including leading initiatives with measured sales resultsSkills & Knowledge:Strong knowledge of CRA/Fair Lending regulationsSelf-motivated; able to work independently.Knowledge of laws pertaining to RedliningExcellent communication (verbal/written), public speaking and relationship building skillsStrong analytical and quantitative skillsBusiness savvySuperior computer skills in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Power Point: experience with any previous CRA/Fair Lending related software is helpful.Strong leadership and project management skillsBerkshire Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer - all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin.
