Position Purpose:

The

Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Management

is responsible for overseeing and managing the revenue cycle functions of the organization. This role involves overseeing departments, such as billing, coding, claims processing and accounts receivable, to ensure efficient revenue collection, compliance with regulatory requirements, and financial success. The primary goal of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective management of the revenue generated by the organization.

Essential Functions

Provide strategic leadership to the revenue cycle management team, setting goals and objectives and ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and values.

Develop, implement, and continually refine the revenue cycle strategy to optimize revenue generation, reduce denials, and improve financial performance.

Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements.

Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and improve the performance of revenue cycle functions. Regularly report on revenue cycle performance to the executive team and board.

Analyze revenue cycle data and financial reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and execute action plans to address identified areas of concern.

Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline the revenue cycle, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance the patient financial experience.

Evaluate, select, and oversee the implementation of revenue cycle management software and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in billing, coding, and claims processing, as needed.

Develop and manage the budget for the revenue cycle department, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.

Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing revenue cycle team. Provide mentorship and support for staff development and career growth.

Collaborate with other departments, including finance, accounting, and clinical departments, to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to revenue cycle management.

Strive to create a positive patient financial experience by ensuring transparent and ethical billing and payment processes.

Plan and prepare monthly financial information for business unit leaders and surgeons.

Partner with CFO to improve revenue cycle and cash flow opportunities.

Foster strong relationships with surgeons, leaders, and support services teams; actively address the needs of the practice by resolving concerns, responding to feedback, and understanding the financial data.

Other duties may be required as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

Extensive experience in revenue cycle management in a healthcare setting, with a minimum of 8 years Revenue Cycle leadership experience.

Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and revenue cycle best practices.
