Job Summary

Radford University invites internal applicants for the Associate Dean of the College of Nursing. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean:

Supports the Dean, college, faculty, and staff in support of university and college strategic plans while managing internal processes and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.

Develops and maintains assessment and accreditation documentation for CCNE, the Virginia Board of Nursing (BON), and SACSCOC. Produces the annual and progress reports in conjunction with the Dean, as required by CCNE, the BON, and SACSCOC.

Leads college strategies for program quality assessment, evaluation, and interventions for all academic programs; leads Program Quality and Evaluation (PQ&E) faculty committee in assessment and evaluation of college programs; provides reports to college executive team and faculty on program assessment measures.

Leads college strategies for faculty development; assesses the needs of the college and designs, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive nursing faculty development program to support the career-long needs of college faculty.

Serves as a resource for curricular, faculty, staff, or student concerns for resolution in cooperation with the Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and Coordinators.

Assists the Dean in managing college budgets.

Serves as the Dean’s representative at meetings, events and other duties as needed.

The Associate Dean of the College of Nursing is an AP faculty position.

Required Qualifications

Tenured faculty member in the College of Nursing.

Effective and trusted leader in the college who demonstrates successful administrative skills.

Significant experience in leading college-wide and/or large program accreditation/regulatory preparation, self-study submission, and site visits.

Skilled in data analysis, data-informed decision making, report writing, and curricular development.

Strong interpersonal communication skills; able to effectively present to large groups of internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to monitor and bring closure to committee work to meet deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to work with other administrators, faculty, staff, and students inside and outside the college in a collegial manner.

Preferred Qualifications

An earned doctoral degree, with preference for the terminal degree to be in a discipline housed in the College.

Salary commensurate with education/experience.
