This position reports to the Payroll Supervisor.Primary ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and distribute payroll tax related documents with Ceridian to ensure compliance in multi-state payroll reporting and tax paymentsReview payroll tax fallout report for accuracy, complete POAs, and register for payroll tax accounts as neededResearch delinquent payroll tax filings and resolve with Ceridian and the agencies as neededIdentify government reporting regulations impacting payroll and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and wage and hour lawsObtain online accounts for all active jurisdictions and ensure state agencies' websites are current with company changesReconcile payroll tax accounts quarterlyAnalyze, validate, and correct variances on quarterly tax filingsReview weekly payroll reports to ensure cash flow is accurateReview tax set up for new hires and employee changesComplete payroll tax audits (e.g., virtual/hybrid workers, year-end zero reporting, etc.)Assist with W2 and W2-C reportingDevelop and maintain policies and procedures related to the payroll tax processesAssist with employee tax issuesUpdate SUI rate changes as neededRequired SkillsTechnical SkillsThe successful candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in multi-state payroll tax roleFamiliarity with an HRIS system or similar large database is requiredStrong capability with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook is requiredExperience with Ceridian Tax Services is preferredStrong knowledge of payroll laws and regulationsAbility to work under tight time constraints and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyLeadership SkillsAbility to exercise extreme confidentiality.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Detail oriented, organized, consistent and reliable with follow-through.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Diversity and InclusionWe believe in diversity of thought and bringing together other traits and characteristics that make an individual bring a unique experience to Pregis.
