JOB SUMMARY

A Sr. Engineer will have a defined area of expertise either in a particular competency or industry. They will have mastered technology specific to their area of competence. Will be able to convey technical solutions to other engineers and to business personnel. Capable of being the lead engineer involved in a cross-functional team. They will be able to drive cross-functional project teams in solving technical problems and overcoming hurdles that may affect project timelines. Will have previous experience of releasing a product into a manufacturing production environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, maintain, and debug BMC Firmware by applying knowledge of server hardware architecture and system design.High-level and low-level design and implementation for new features or ideas.Ability to engage as an independent professional; articulate and compare alternative approaches with multi-functional teams.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to develop mathematical models of physical reality and solve them, then implement the results.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

4-5 years+ of BMC/OpenBMC firmware experience.Good C/C++ coding skills, including well design concepts and code tracing skill.Well understanding of the principles of Linux operating system, kernel, application.Well understanding of BMC IPMI 2.0.Knowledge in Redfish (Restful API) is a plus.Independently porting skill of BMC to custom HW or algorithm.Ability to read schematics.Experience of participating in at least one whole server project cycle.Bachelor or Master in Electronics, computing, software engineering or similar.
