We relentlessly pursue medicines to ease the burden of debilitating diseases and disorders because you deserve brave science.About the Role:The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining data infrastructure, pipelines, and models to enable technical teams to build analytical solutions supporting clinical development and clinical operations. In addition to supporting ongoing deployed solutions, this position will work with others on a cross-functional Bioinformatics, Data Management, and Data Analytics team using programming, statistics, and modern cloud techniques to make data readily available for analytics, exploration, and decision making.Our ideal candidate is well-organized, works cross-functionally, and has a passion for building practical, right-sized solutions that deliver on business value.Your Contributions (include, but not limited to):Work closely with analysts, engineers, clinical data managers, biostatisticians, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions that meet clinical research needs.Collaborate with team members to develop, monitor, and maintain tools to support clinical trials.Develop efficient and scalable data pipelines and models to support analytical and operational needs for multiple clinical programs.Participate in the development and optimization of ETL processes from various sources to ensure clinical data is accessible and reliable for analysis.Participate in vendor setup and contracting discussions for reliable and efficient data exchange methods.Assist in the implementation of data validation and quality assurance procedures to maintain high data integrity and consistency.Optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.Configure and optimize databases and data storage solutions, including maintenance tasks.Maintain documentation for processes, pipelines, architectures, and business rules.Other job-related duties as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics or related field and 3+ years in an analytical capacity in conjunction with the development/maintenance of reports OR a Master's degree in the same fields with 1+ years of experience.Prior bio/pharma experience is a plus, but not required.Proficiency in Python or other mainstream programming languages.Proficiency in SQL and relational database modeling, design, and warehousing concepts.Proficiency in data ingestion practices and normalizing multiple disparate sources.Experience with ETL tools and processes.Experience with cloud infrastructure and computing platforms, AWS in particular.Experience with Data Science Platforms such as Databricks.Experience with clean code principles, testing methodologies, and GitHub.Experience in process documentation and supporting solutions in a regulated environment.Familiarity with clinical data capture, trial management, and randomization systems is a plus.Familiarity with AI/ML workflows; able to design, implement and deploy models with best practices.Familiarity with data analysis and exploration tools, such as R, Power BI, and Tableau.Ability to work as part of a team.Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.Neurocrine Biosciences is an EEO/AA/Disability/Vets employer. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of the role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
