Research Technician IIPriority Application Deadline: Sunday, June 16th @ 11:55pm PST (Posting will remain open until filled)Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Director of Institutional Research, Data and Analytics, the Research Analyst (Research Technician II) will be responsible for generating various reports to Federal and State Government as well as other organizations; administrating surveys and providing support for the surveys conducted by other units on campus; and assisting the Director in research projects to support planning, assessment and accreditation. The Research Analyst will also be supporting the lead with Academic Planning Database (APDB) system Reporting and other institutional priorities.FLSA : Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation)Anticipated Hiring Range : $4,180 per month - $6,600 per monthCSU Classification Salary Range : $4,180 per month - $7,564 per monthRecruitment Type : Regular (Probationary)Time Base : Full-TimeDepartment InformationThe mission of the Office of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning (OIREP) is to enhance University effectiveness with information and research to support planning and budgeting, assessment, accreditation, policy formation, and decision-making.Required QualificationsEDUCATIONBachelor's degree in information management, sociology, psychology, economics, mathematics, statistics, public or business administration, or other related field. Additional experience which has demonstrated that the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities delineated above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.EXPERIENCETwo years of progressively responsible experience in technical research or statistical work in the collection, compilation, and analysis of data.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESExcellent research and analytical skills; working knowledge of survey design and administration; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation; strong organization and detail-oriented skills; commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited university or college; minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data analysis, predictive and inferential statistics, data cleaning, survey design, and dissemination of findings; advanced knowledge of data cleaning, analysis, and modeling with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), R (programming language) and/or other software or programming languages typically used in data science and statistical analysis.Documents Needed to ApplyResume and cover letter.
