How You’ll Make an Impact
The Laboratory Technician I is an entry-level role in our Oligo Synthesis Team, responsible for processing Oligo Synthesis orders for internal and external customers. The incumbent will create synthesis runs, process oligosynthesis orders using liquid handlers, perform QC workflows, and package orders for shipment to customers.
What You’ll Do
Receive and sort incoming orders using established workflows
Independently operate laboratory equipment including but not limited to pipettes, automated liquid handlers, spectrophotometers, mass spectrometer, and centrifuges
Follow SOPs accurately and precisely
Handle chemical reagents and glassware
Restock lab supplies
Prepare and package orders
Maintain the cleanliness of the work area
Ability to lift 35 pounds
Ability to read small font on sample tubes
Reaching, lifting, bending
Extended periods of time standing or sitting, operating lab computers and equipment while wearing a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves
Working in an area with hazardous chemicals
Use hand tools to adjust settings on instruments as needed
What You Will Bring
HS Diploma required
A.S. Degree or B.S. degree preferred
Experience and/or desire to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Desire to learn new processes and support a growing team
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Must be able to work in a team environment
Previous experience using pipettes, liquid handling systems, spectrophotometer, and/or Mass Spectrometer preferred
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.)
