Payroll Accountant

for the

Finance division . The Payroll Accountant supports the Finance department with all payroll functions. The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing payroll functions, compliance with all payroll regulations, and financial reporting related to payroll. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of payroll processes, and experience working in the insurance industry. Under general direction, serves as the administrator for the company’s core/essential financial payroll applications. Top candidates will have superb attention to detail and effective communication skills with all levels of professionals.Essential Functions:Coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate data for payroll processingMaintain accurate payroll records and reconcile payroll accountsReview gross to net payroll reports, record general ledger activity, and reconcile ledger to payroll reportingEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsManage tax filings and payments, ensuring timely and accurate submission of payroll taxesMonitor all employee 401K and HSA accounts and book journal entries as neededMonitor and initiate payment of all healthcare-related invoicesAssist in auditsAssist the Corporate Finance team as neededJob Requirements (education, experience, skills):Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5-6 years of payroll accounting experienceStrong knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and labor lawsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProven experience as a Payroll Accountant, preferably in the insurance or financial services industryExcellent communication skills and a team player attitudeWhat we offer:A career that you define.
