We are seeking a Financial Controller to join one of our portfolio companies in the commercial HVAC Space. This position will create, supervise and review important financial reports for publication, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. This position is responsible for monitoring the budget and developing and implementing internal financial controls. The Finance Manager plays an integral role in driving the success of the company by monitoring financial performance and developing a profitable financial plan.Objectives

Develops financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services and directing staff.Oversees accounting and financial reporting.Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change.Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.Reports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Review collection reports to determine the status and the amounts of outstanding balance.Submit delinquent accounts to attorneys or agencies for collection.Performs other related duties as assigned.Skills and Qualifications

Exceptional numerical abilityExcellent communication and people skillsStrong leadership and organizational skillsExperience with spreadsheet and financial analysis softwareAttention to detail coupled with patience and tenacity.Knowledge of regulatory and other financial standards and requirementsUnderstanding of taxation, payroll and other fiscal aspects of a businessExperience conducting audits.Critical thinking and negotiation skills.Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance or relevant field is required. Master’s degree is a plus.7+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage)Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)Travel

Occasional travel is required for this position.
