Our portfolio has continued to grow substantially the past few years and we see increasing demand for professionally managed single-family rental homes and anticipate continued growth.Employment with Progress Residential is conditional on a satisfactory background and drug screen.Position Summary:The Accounting Manager - Regulatory Compliance is responsible for supporting and overseeing the company’s regulatory readiness and compliance initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring the company meets regulatory mandates and lowers its compliance risk. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled technical accounting leader and self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial and rapidly evolving atmosphere.Essential Functions:Development/enhancement of regulatory compliance policies and procedures for the accounting teamManage compliance with regulatory and expense allocation policiesAssist in the establishment of an annual compliance training program for accounting leadersCommunicate and document regulatory updatesManage pre-examination preparedness and facilitate effective responses to examination requestsEvaluate existing expense allocation processes to identify gaps and help implement improvements in efficiencies and automationAssist with the build out of the accounting compliance teamReview and prepare management reportsAssist with special projects as necessaryQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred7 or more years’ technical accounting experiencePreference for candidates with experience in a large public accounting firmReal Estate/Property Management experience a plusHigh attention to detail and accuracyProven problem solving, analytical, troubleshooting and time-management skillsAbility to be independent and a self-starter; is self-motivated and takes initiativeMust have a strong work ethicExcellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills; has ability to convey a clear and concise thought and effectively communicate with senior management and outside vendorsWhat you can expect from us:Progress Residential offers all the financial and non-financial incentives you would expect from an innovative real estate investment and management firm:In addition to outstanding training, we host quarterly summits and town hall meetings to encourage growth, knowledge sharing and a good time.
