Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Estimator
with expertise in site work and concrete jobs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of field and estimator experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of construction processes, cost estimation, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for site work and concrete construction projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to identify materials, labor, and time needed.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive bidding.
Perform site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
Monitor and evaluate project costs and adjust estimates as necessary.
Stay current with industry trends, costs, and best practices to ensure competitive pricing.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry, specifically in site work and concrete projects.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and market pricing.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Proficient in using estimating software and tools.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills Required for Senior Estimator (Site and Concrete Work):
Estimating and Cost Analysis:
Ability to prepare detailed cost estimates for site work and concrete projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
Project Management:
Experience in overseeing the entire bidding process, from initial takeoff to final proposal submission, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Blueprint and Plan Reading:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine the scope of work.
Construction Knowledge:
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations, particularly in site preparation and concrete work.
Software Proficiency:
Experience using estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel) and other tools to develop accurate and competitive bids.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to meticulously analyze and review project details to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Negotiation and Vendor Management:
Ability to negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and fair pricing.
Time Management:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize project outcomes.
Field Experience:
Practical experience working in the field, understanding on-site conditions, and how they impact project scope and costs.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements specific to site work and concrete projects.
