Major Responsibilities:Performs specialized or general procedures according to established departmental protocols.Performs ultrasound procedures for Cardiac Ultrasound procedures and other specific areas as required.Operates all types of Ultrasound equipment. Performs portable exams in various areas throughout the hospital.Uses Epic to schedule and complete exams as applicable. Completes preliminary reports in Epic.Serves as a resource to sonographers, MDs, and students.Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.Maintains clean and safe work area. Reports any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdown to supervisor.Provides proper patient care. Interviews patients for required information. Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.Maintains patient records and statistics accurately.Labels sonograms properly to assist in diagnosis and to ensure correct identification.Maintain records, reports, and files as required or directed.Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrating Standards of Respect.Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.All responsibilities are essential job functions.II. Position Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college.Registration required by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), including the RDCS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) for cardiac specialties.Unless certification, licensure, or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:Work is considered moderate.
