We are looking for an experienced Staff DevOps Engineer to join the Service Framework team within the Developer Lifecycle organization in our Core Infrastructure group. Service Framework is responsible for service communication and application tooling used company-wide to support large-scale microservice architectures deployed across many deployment locations functioning under unique geographic and regulatory constraints.We’re looking for passionate & experienced technologists, strong communicators, and those with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and be eager to both learn from and educate others.THE GAME PLAN

Work on a platform engineering team which supports the development of performant and reliable applications across FanDuel.Lead conversations to remove blockers and foster collaboration across teams.Collaborate with various cross-functional software engineering teams to enhance and unify our overarching engineering culture.Define overarching strategic goals and translate them into actionable and detailed plans that can be readily implemented by engineers.Demonstrate technical proficiency across the organization.Inspire change and champion standards and baselines for uplifting engineering across FanDuel.Build and maintain a development platform that supports an efficient developer lifecycle for our engineers.Proactively identify new opportunities and advocate for and implement improvements to the current state of projects — potentially having broader business impact across teams or products.Approach tasks with a growth mindset and experiment with new approaches, learning, owning the outcomes, and sharing what you learned so that others can learn from it.Identify and support areas of growth for teammates that consider their unique skills, strengths, backgrounds, and working styles.THE STATS

Strong experience with microservice architectures, patterns, & tools, such as managing Kubernetes clusters, API gateways, service meshes; GraphQL, OpenAPI, and protobuf, etc.Strong experience with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).Experience in software development (e.g. Go, Java, Typescript, Python, etc.).Experience with delivering programs and projects via tools like Jira.Demonstrated ability to transform strategic objectives into actionable work programs, leading into successful and effective execution.Proficient in developing applications related to Platform engineering, Infrastructure engineering, DevOps, etc.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Player Benefits

This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
