Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Senior Lab Technician to support characterization of our iron-air battery materials. The role reports into our Reliability Analytics team, which is focused on materials characterization to uncover the complex mechanisms that make our batteries tick. This role will focus on ownership and optimization of advanced scientific instruments such as our electron microscope and X-ray diffractometer, and processes to make the most of our samples and instruments. Our team puts a strong emphasis on mentorship and learning, and there is ample room to grow. Form Energy is a fast-moving and exciting company, and we look forward to welcoming a new member to share in our ambitious mission!What you'll do:
Own, maintain, and operate advanced scientific equipmentDevelop and optimize sample preparation and measurement techniques to get the most out of our samplesIntermediate data analysis and interpretationFollow and improve existing processes, applying knowledge and creativity to handle new sample typesWork with colleagues and other teams, help guide them to appropriate characterization and clearly communicate results of that characterization backWhat you'll bring:
4+ years of lab work experienceDemonstrated ability to independently handle complex challenges with the help of documented proceduresDemonstrated commitment to safety, and ability to work safely with machinery, radiation equipment, and delicate instrumentsOptional but desired: experience with SEM, XRD, optical microscopy, materials handling, hazardous waste handlingExcellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills#LI-Onsite#LI-AB1Humanity is a cornerstone of Form Energy's culture, and we make sure our compensation and benefits reflect that.
