Under the leadership and supervision of OTOP Intake & Counseling Services Director, the Intake & Counseling Services Supervisor is responsible for intake program daily operations. The incumbent supervises clinical and administrative staff, supporting their delivery of culturally responsive, trauma-informed, person-centered, harm reduction patient services. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the unit such as individual counseling, de-escalation, care coordination and other intake services; however, supervisory and oversight of team operations constitute the primary part of the job.

The Intake & Counseling Services Supervisor ensures accountability and stewardship of UCSF Dept. of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental, government, and accrediting body standards and procedures. Responsible for clearly communicating and coordinating OTOP intake services with local hospitals, jails and community providers to ensure access to treatment and continuity of care. Incumbent implements and evaluates program components; provides ongoing monitoring and implementation of program compliance with State and Federal guidelines; provides administrative and clinical supervision to social work associates, health workers, and other staff disciplines at OTOP; provides training and information regarding intake and assessment services to our community partners; assists the Program Director in planning and program development; and provides direct patient services as needed, including carrying a small caseload, completing intakes and assessments. Collaboration with Deputy Medical Director, Intake Admin Specialist and other staff on program policy, program evaluation, and process improvement. Supervisory aspects of the role include scheduling and assignment of duties, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
