Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThis Internship includes both Back-End and QA responsibilities for the IBM Storage Hardware Development Department, working on products with the IBM FlashCore Module and Storage Scale teams. As a Back-End Developer Intern, your responsibilities include helping to develop quality code and testing all functions. You should have the ability to articulate and compare alternative approaches, negotiate with specified objectives, and recognize problems related to project objectives. Creativity and judgment will be applied to professional technical or operational problems. You will independently generate solutions based on analytical skills and business knowledge. As a Quality Assurance/Test Developer Intern, you will help in testing new features within a test-driven framework. You will also identify and redesign inefficiencies, weak spots, and issues with current test implementations. This position will work closely with FlashSystem and Storage Scale development teams as well as other test engineers in the delivery of products that meet rigorous quality standards, budgets, and timelines. Your scope will include Test Plan Development, Test Case Execution, Automation Testing, Data Creation, and incorporating test automation in the CI/CD pipelines.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with embedded development in CCreate Application Programming Interfaces (API) that are clean, well-documented, and easy to useExperienced in automating test cases using Python, Java, etc.Must have basic knowledge of LinuxDemonstrates communication skills in a high-performing development environmentMotivated, hardworking, and a quick learnerRequired to come to the office a minimum of 3 days a week at Houston, TX facility

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Knowledge and test experience in FlashSystems, Storage Scale Systems, or other storage productsHave a deep understanding of computer architecture, Flash memory, RTL DesignExperience with Agile principles and methods
