Description:

The Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy is seeking a Clinical Instructor/Clinical Pharmacist to join the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services unit. The practice site for this position is located in Wood Street Pharmacy. Our mission is to provide quality health services and promote disease prevention to all in the community of the UI Health System. Wood Street Pharmacy is a closed-door mail out pharmacy, servicing our patients Monday through Friday. Our pharmacy is looking for a full-time team player who possesses strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, and adapts to a changing work environment. The successful candidate must also possess excellent time management and organizational skills and be committed to providing excellent patient care. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with USP 797 and 800 compliance and standards in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Instructor

academic responsibilities include the provision of didactic and clinical experiential teaching/training in the College of Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy Program and precepting of PGY1 and PGY2 residents.

Clinical Pharmacist

responsibilities include the accurate and efficient review and verification of physicians' medication orders and patient medication counseling across the different programs we service (Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), Fertility, Transplant, Allergy, Oncology, and HIV) and works with health care providers and patients to resolve any medication issues. Responsibilities of this position also include ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met, directing the activities performed by pharmacy technicians, serving as a resource for the medical and nursing staffs for medication-related questions, and assisting with all mail out activities. Clinical Pharmacists work closely with pharmacy technicians, students, medical staff, and patients in providing patient-centered clinical pharmacy services.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a professional pharmacist in Illinois as of start date

Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy PharmD program

Candidate must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for a non-tenured clinical faculty position (at the rank of Clinical Instructor) with the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UIC College of Pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of prior pharmacy experience

Previous pharmacy management experience

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with USP 797 and 800 compliance and standards in a hospital or clinical setting

Working knowledge of the programs serviced in the pharmacy
