Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Med/Surg and ICU to lead the Medical Surgical and ICU Services. This leadership role will involve ensuring the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective patient care, managing nursing staff, and overseeing departmental projects and goals. The Director will also be responsible for maintaining accreditation standards and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide education, direction, and mentorship to the nursing team, ensuring alignment with department goals.
Collaborate with team members to ensure quality patient care and positive outcomes.
Oversee education in nursing competency, infection control, employee health, and process improvement.
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards from TJC and CMS, and manage infection control protocols.
Evaluate and manage staffing needs based on census, acuity, and staff availability.
Address any concerns from staff, physicians, patients, and families promptly.
Qualifications:
License: : Active UT RN license at the time of hire.
Experience: : Med surg or ICU nursing experience with a minimum of two years of leadership experience.
Certifications: : BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
Preferred: : Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
