THE ROLE:

Sr. Data AnalystSpruce Power, a leading provider of solar energy to over 53,000 customers, is the nation’s #1 independent residential solar servicing company, and offers customers a comprehensive, end-to-end servicing solution including financial asset management, account services, billing, fleet management, and customer support to third-party asset owners and retail customers.Spruce is headquartered in Denver, CO, with a presence in Houston, TX and the Bay Area, CA. This role is envisioned to be located in Houston, TX.Spruce is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst that can use data pulled from the front-end and back-end platforms and provide meaningful insights to drive informed business decisions. This role would require the individual to work directly with the business function to understand the importance of that function, pull data, develop KPIs/Metrics, and deliver on insights that the business can use to drive changes.Key Responsibilities Include but not Limited to:Pull data from our Enterprise Data Warehouse using SQL.Create dashboards and prepare reports that deliver business insights utilizing PowerBI.Develop analysis of operational and financial data from various data sources (spreadsheets, SQL database, .csv files, etc.).Prepare reports that support data-driven decisions across the organization.Ensure on-time reporting to our internal clients.Presentation of reports to senior leadership.Work with cross-functional teams for system development/enhancements.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSGeneral Knowledge and Skills:Bachelor’s degree – Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Business is preferred.5+ years of experience in an analyst role. Industry experience in PPA/leases and/or loans preferred.Strong written and oral communications skills.Comfortable working hard in a fast-paced environment.Business performance analysis and data analytics experience; variance analysis of financial results, budgets, and operations; KPIs and servicing business.Skilled in managing large data sets, translating to desired information & solutions.Review of periodic financial statements.Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and lead improvement projects/initiatives.Experience in distributed energy, solar, and/or retail power preferred.Technical Skills:Advanced working skill set with Power BI (DAX functions, tables relationship, data types) – Required.Advanced working skill set with Power Query - Required.Advanced working skill set with MS Excel (xlookup, index, pivot tables, conditional functions) - Required.Proficiency with SQL, Data Warehouses, and other automated reporting – Required.Proficiency with Python (Anaconda, Matplotlib, Pandas, etc.) for big data cleansing, ETL process, automation, and analysis/visualization - Highly Preferred.Proficiency with Power Automate - Highly Preferred.EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Business is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience is required.BENEFITSSpruce Power offers competitive benefits and a collaborative, purpose-driven, high-energy culture.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERWe value a diverse work environment.
