Job Description:

The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Manager will support, maintain, and improve internal HR systems, services, and business processes related to the HR department and its internal customer groups. The HRIS Manager builds project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules, maintains a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers to set technology priorities and conduct long-term planning. Also supports HRIS upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as part of the continuous improvement of the company HRIS.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

Oversees the daily workflow of the department staff and confirms priorities.

Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations, as well as continuous feedback to improve staff performance.

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for the governance and continuous improvement of the company’s HRIS.

Oversees and maintains the optimal function of the organization's internal HRIS, including database management, network support, installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrades to applications, systems, and modules.

Oversees and maintains internal database files, tables, codes, backup files, integrity, and security.

Installs, implements, modifies, and upgrades software and applications to meet changing business and technology.

Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to system leads and employees.

Collaborates with executive leadership and HR staff to identify needed improvements and enhancements to existing information services and databases; recommends, implements, and analyzes solutions and outcomes.

Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, Information Services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HR database design and implementation projects.

Owns, maintains and improves vendor relationships with HRIS and its supporting vendors.

Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.

Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in data management and security, HR technology, and HRIS applications.

Participates in user group meetings/conferences.

Facilitates migration to a unified HRIS if required.

Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

5 -8 years of progressively responsible experience in HRIS administration or of database management.

1-3 years of supervisor experience.

1-3 years of Workday experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent project planning and execution skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Ability to keep information confidential.

Thorough understanding of database construction.

Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or equivalent years of experience.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Extensive keyboard and mouse usage.

Travel up to 10% of the time.

Base Pay Range:

The annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated at: (128,000 - $147,000). However, the pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
