will be responsible for recommending the spending of capital dollars to support network requirements, analyzing third-party assets for potential reroute, groom, and disconnect, and tracking and reporting on network utilization and other trends for Zayo's network assets. This position will require interaction with other functional areas within Zayo, including Field Operations, Sales, and Business Operations.The

will also oversee the strategic planning, design, and implementation of our fiber optic network infrastructure. This role involves leading a team of planners and engineers, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that our network expansion projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.Responsibilities:Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement comprehensive fiber network plans that align with the company's growth objectives and customer needs.Project Management:

Oversee all aspects of fiber network projects, including planning, design, permitting, construction, and testing.Capital Spending Recommendations:

Recommend the spending of capital dollars to support network requirements.Asset Analysis:

Analyze third-party assets for potential reroute, groom, and disconnect.Network Utilization Tracking:

Track and report on network utilization and other trends for Zayo's network assets.Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network planners, engineers, and support staff to achieve project goals.Budget Management:

Prepare and manage budgets for fiber network projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints.Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, including Field Operations, Sales, and Business Operations, to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.Vendor Management:

Coordinate with external vendors and contractors, ensuring that all work meets company standards and regulatory requirements.Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure that all fiber network projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.Quality Assurance:

Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of network reliability and performance.Reporting:

Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions.Monthly Tracking Reports:

Produce and analyze monthly tracking reports for network parameters.Route Planning:

Plan new routes and overbuilds where needed.ROI Analysis:

Perform Return on Investment (ROI) analysis for capital expenditures.Capital Improvements:

Identify potential capital improvements while assessing mandatory cable relocations.Backbone Cable Monitoring:

Identify the need for backbone cable monitoring circuits and project manage their implementation.Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Experience:

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in fiber network planning, design, and project management, with at least three (3) years in a leadership role.Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of fiber optic network design principles, technologies, and best practices.Project Management:

Proven experience in managing large-scale network projects from inception to completion.Leadership:

Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.Analytical Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a strategic mindset.Communication:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Certifications:

PMP, RCDD, or other relevant certifications are a plus.Base Salary Range:
