Controller/Accounting Manager

We are seeking Controller/Accounting Manager .

Job Responsibilities

Heads the accounting operation of an organization's accounting division, including the maintenance of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.Manages professional level accounting functions and the preparation of reports including earnings, profits/losses, cash balances, and cost accounting.Confirms accuracy of operating and financial reports.Interprets accounts and records to upper management.Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred.Develops, installs, and maintains budgeting systems that provide control of expenditures made to carry out activities, such as advertising and marketing, production and labor, maintenance, or project activities, such as construction of buildings.May recommend future financial plans and policies.Supervise employees performing bookkeeping and clerical tasks.Assists in budget preparation by compiling necessary information manually or by using computer-based records pertaining to budgets, accounts, inventories and other financial operations.Handles day-to-day accounting functions of the organization to include, bank reconciliation, GL account reconciliation, and journal entries.Oversee tax obligations – sales & use tax, payroll tax, state/local taxes etc.Weekly payroll processing.Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA and CPA designation preferred.Proven experience in a Controller or similar financial leadership role, ideally within the construction industry.Profound understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.Exemplary analytical skills with the ability to confidentially interpret complex financial data and offer actionable insights.Proficiency in confidential financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a penchant for effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Demonstrated confidential leadership prowess, with a track record of nurturing and cultivating high-performing teams.Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Meticulous attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
