Hitachi Particle Engineering and Services, Inc. is a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd and a member of the Hitachi Healthcare Business Unit.SummaryThe Financial Analyst with AP concentration performs under limited supervision to hands-on manage accounts payable cycle and enhances the overall company's financial flow. Being a self-starter, having an ability to take on an ad-hoc assignment in addition to normal work and strong problem-solving skills is required. Understanding overall accounting duty, flow, and logic from PO, AP, SO, AP, accounts reconciliation, PL, BS, Cash-flow, audit/review, and internal control is also necessary. Having experience or involvement in inventory management and/or internal control in a manufacturer would be a plus. Experience in SAP is also a plus as that is the current ERP system in use. Having the ability to adjust to software and accounting flow and always look for improvement is highly regarded.ResponsibilitiesMaintain full Accounts Payable cycle having a 3-way matching of the invoices.Match the invoices and post invoices in the accounting system.Process vendor payments on time.Create and maintain vendor's records efficiently.Process, monitor, and reconcile credit card payments.Review and post expense reimbursement requests.Process and/or review balance sheet account reconciliations.Prepare, verify, and post standard journal entries into the general ledger.Complete timely and accurate month-end close journal entries.Assist with general purchasing functions as needed.Assist with year-end closings and preparation of the audit process.Assist with the budget process.Execute the Accounts Payable function, including document verification, account reconciliation, invoice coding, data entry, check printing and distribution, sales tax return preparation and 1099 preparation.Prepare, manage, and facilitate Internal Audit quarterly submissions and inquiries.Complete and submit time sensitive quarterly financial reports to parent company.Identify areas of improvement.Other Job Functions:Support inventory management from an accounting perspective.Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data and report it in a useful and understandable manner.Perform other duties as assigned or directed by Chief Financial Officer.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or in a related field required.At least 3-4 years' experience in accounting or a related field.Experience with SAP is a plus.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritize tasks.Physical activities required to perform essential job functions:Lift and carry 10 pounds infrequently.Communicate by speech and hearing continuously.Communicate by telephone and in person.Use personal computer, telephone, and general office equipment.Visual acuity needed for computer use, and the reading of documents.Manual dexterity needed for keyboard and calculator use.Movement within office and manufacturing facility.Mental activities required to perform essential job functions:Ability to perform under pressure and under tight deadlines.Influencing skills.Complex English reading and writing, and math skills.Perception, comprehension, and analysis.Independent judgment and initiative.Job conditions:Works alone and with others in a general office environment, and in a facility with manufacturing operations.For California only (as required by California's Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162)): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $68,000 - $75,000 per year. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.
