The Nome Trial Court of the Alaska Court System (ACS) seeks dependable and detail-oriented individuals to become Court Case Managers 2 (range 12).

These positions handle a variety of clerical and technical functions in support of the court.

The PositionsCivil duties will include receiving a variety of court forms, verifying completeness of filings, and accepting fees as appropriate. The incumbent will set up case files, enter computer data, and issue process in the form of summons, warrants, and orders to show cause. Additional duties include calendaring civil hearings and jury trials as required, review audit reports, disburse funds, and assist other staff members as needed.

In-court duties will include preparing the courtroom for hearings, receive and mark exhibits, maintain witness lists, calendaring necessary hearings, and prepare and distribute court paperwork. The incumbent will be responsible for keeping accurate log notes and ensuring a clear recording of the hearing is produced. This position is responsible for drawing juror/grand juror names, swearing in jurors, and maintaining good communication during trials with the jury clerk.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

- Experience with office software, including Microsoft Office and Word processing.- Proficiency in data entry.- Familiarity with legal procedures and terminology.- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.- Experience with clerical duties, including filing and record-keeping.- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

OR

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

OR

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.59 - $40.07 per hour
