Program DirectorPOSITION SUMMARYDominican University's College of Health Sciences is seeking a dedicated Lecturer for the Master of Medical Science (MMS) Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) program. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position. The role involves teaching and service responsibilities at both the department and college levels, as well as engagement with professional organizations and community service. The position includes one weekday allocated for clinical practice, to be determined in collaboration with the Program Director and/or BCHS Dean. As a principal faculty member, you will collaborate closely with the faculty, Program Director, and Medical Director to coordinate and deliver both the didactic and clinical curriculum, in alignment with ARC-PA standards.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESServe as course director and instructor for PAS courses, following the BCHS/PAS faculty workload guidelines. This includes designing and implementing course content that aligns with the PAS curriculum's student learning outcomes, and participating in Return to Campus Days, simulation and skills activities, and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).Engage in Capstone advising and mentoring, as well as student remediation efforts.Participate actively in student admissions activities.Support ARC-PA accreditation processes and contribute to university-wide assessment initiatives.Demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse student and community populations, and contribute to fostering a culturally inclusive educational environment.Participate in university governance, contribute to campus life, and engage in ongoing professional development.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSGraduate of an accredited PA program with a Master’s degree or higher in Physician Assistant StudiesCurrent Illinois PA licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of IllinoisExperience as a practicing PA for a minimum of 3 yearsNCCPA certificationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of five years of clinical experienceExperience in the classroom or clinical teachingExcellent communication skills and professionalismHighly motivated, team player with a strong work ethic, and possesses a high level of collaborative competenciesProvide evidence of inclusive pedagogy designed to reach a diverse student population.PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesSALARY AND FLSA STATUSFLSA Status: Exempt, full-timeSALARY: Competitive and commensurate with experienceComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with employer matching contributionsTuition remission for employees and their dependentsFlexible spending accounts (FSA)Generous paid time off (PTO)Employment at Dominican University is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.Expectations for all Dominican Employees:To support the University's mission of preparing students to pursue truth, give compassionate service, and participate in the creation of a more just and humane world, engage in university service work that promotes collaboration and community building.
