Job Overview:This position provides leadership, technical support, and expertise for Registered and Registry-Eligible Medical Technologists, Registered and Registry-Eligible Medical Laboratory Technicians, Co-op Students, Tech Aides IIs, Technologist Associates, Technician Aides in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Blood Bank as applicable. This position is responsible for orientation training, compliance education, safety training, competency assessments, and competency reassessments when necessary. It also includes monitoring QC, QA, IQCP, Maintenance, Temperature, and Troubleshooting logs, as well as corrective action for instrumentation. This position assists with validations of new instrumentation and new assays, attends and actively participates in department meetings, and communicates with Tech Specialists, Laboratory Compliance, Safety, and Quality Assurance Specialists, Supervisors, and Managers to develop efficient processes and procedures. Additionally, this position maintains compliance with CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies, including distributing, monitoring, result entry, and corrective action for Proficiency Testing incorrect responses when necessary.

This position is responsible for schedules, assigning work, editing, and approving Team Member time records. It provides input and documentation for performance reviews, performance counseling, service excellence recognition, and resolving personnel issues that arise.

This position works collaboratively with non-lab departments to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, review test orders for accuracy, and provide existing clients/customers with ongoing technical support regarding test information and services.Job Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science- Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree- American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), MLS (ASCP)- Customer service experience- Phlebotomy skills- Computer skills- 3-4 years experience in Clinical LaboratoryJob Responsibilities:- Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle quantity of work- Ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness of work- Manage complex assignments received, delegated, and completed- Utilize judgment and problem-solving skills- Overall procedure knowledge and quality assurance knowledge, including documentation as neededWorking Conditions:- Climbing: Rarely- Hearing: Conversation: Frequently- Hearing: Other Sounds: Frequently- Kneeling: Rarely- Lifting 50+ Lbs.: Rarely- Lifting
