Full Time, Days. 36 hours a week.+$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.Boulder Community Health is seeking an RN for ED who provides patient care, identifying and implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.Benefits:

Colorado Nursing License in good standingBLS certificationACLS certificationPALS or ENPC certificationTNCC certification within 6 months of hire, or upon the expiration of the current certificationNIHSS certification required within 6 months of hireNRP -- Neonatal Resuscitation Program desirableCEN – Certification for Emergency Nursing – desirableMinimum 2 yrs experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma ED. Trauma experience preferredResponsibilities:

Assessment: ED nurses shall triage and initiate accurate and ongoing assessments of physical and psychosocial problems of patients of all ages from 0 through the lifespan.Demonstrates organization and efficiency in relationship to time management and patient load (4-6 patients).Identifies environmental and psychosocial factors affecting discharge needs and refers appropriately.Knowledgeable of EMTALA issues that impact ED care and management.Recognizes communicable disease and potential for bioterrorism threats.Planning and Implementation: Based on assessment, sound knowledge and critical thinking, ED nurses shall initiate nursing interventions and diagnostic tests according to standard.Demonstrates an awareness of community resources for referral and integration of care.Accountable for daily assignments to ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are available for patient care.Demonstrates the ability to assume leadership role in emergency or crisis situations.Able to identify replacement and alternative options, resources and communicate repair needs in the event of equipment malfunctions.Maintains a working knowledge of department policy, procedure and standards and practices accordingly.Identifies opportunities to improve care, supports changes in delivery methods and participates in development of service improvements.Evaluation: ED nurses will evaluate patient response to treatment plans, collaborate with physicians, and modify care according to patient responses.Communication: Nurses will assure open and timely communication with patients, family, and team members.Honest and constructive feedback will be given to co-workers when requested, or when problem areas are identified.Resolve conflicts.Documents all aspects of care legibly, concisely and accurately.Maintains a current knowledge of reportable occurrences (child abuse, communicable diseases, domestic violence, etc.)Responsible for review of Huddle notes and any emails sent through bch.org email.About Boulder Community Health and Boulder, Colorado:Boulder Community Health’s vision is partnering to create and care for the healthiest community in the nation.
