DLA is hiring a VP of Finance to join our Operations team in Fairfield, NJ. The Vice President of Finance supports the Firm by providing advice and counsel and by managing a significant portion of the day-to-day affairs of the business. The Vice President of Finance manages all financial and administrative functions of the Firm and will oversee and direct treasury, budgeting, audit, tax and accounting activities for the organization. The Vice President of Finance will work directly with the Operating Committee of the Firm, especially the CEO and President, on the Firm’s financial matters.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee the Company's financial system; NetSuite
Oversee systems upgrades and enhancements
Manage month-end closings
Develop and enhance management reporting
Conduct expense analysis and cost reduction proposals
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage semi-monthly billing cycles
Manage and review semi-monthly payroll processes
Supervise accounting personnel
Forecasting and other budget preparation processes
Ensure proper and timely accrual basis financial accounting in accordance with GAAP
Ensure timely calculation and payment of estimated federal and state taxes
Oversee the preparation and review tax basis information to be provided to a tax professional for creation of income tax returns
Review completed income tax returns and ensure they are accurate for filing
Oversee the treasury management function, including but not limited to, primary contact for the bank, management of the line of credit, processing payments, inquiries and selecting bank technology solutions
Cashflow planning for up to one year out based on internal forecast
Oversight of the FP&A staff and manage the planning/forecasting process
Supervise and direct the activities of team members, provide performance feedback to team members, and promote team behaviors consistent with the DLA culture
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and enhance DLA's financial performance
Review and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and processes and procedures
Perform other tasks as requested by the CEO, President, and Partners
Ad-hoc analyses
In all respects, while acting on behalf of or representing DLA, to act in the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and client service
Support the growth and development of team members, helping these individuals meet their professional goals.
Knowledge & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Experience in a professional services industry is strongly preferred
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Experience with Deltek Vision and/or NetSuite a plus
A strong understanding of Intercompany Transactions and Consolidated Financial Statements
10+ years progressive management/administration experience
Strong and demonstrated hands-on financial experience
Strong computer proficiency: Excel, Vision
Knowledge of state and local employment laws and tax regulations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must possess strong communications skills, both oral and written
Strong management and supervisory skills
Process improvement and automation skills
