This position is in the Energy Trading and Risk Management application support group, which is primarily responsible for supporting our energy trading system of record. Key responsibilities of this role will include project work and system support of the commodities trading process pertaining to Front, Middle, and Back offices. This position will require strong technical skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support for integration between Commodities Trading Exchanges and Aligne (ICE, CME, etc).

Provide support for Aligne TRM, Aligne Analytics, GBO, EOD Reporting.

Provide support for other system applications in support of the power business, including but not limited to OATI webSettlements Pro, EAS, ZE, Paragon Credit, Paragon ERM (Recs), TRSA (trade surveillance).

Provide technical knowledge and application expertise to the user community.

Design, develop, test and implement updates or solutions to the supported systems.

Design, build and maintain reports for end users.

Ensure compliance with established IT control policies.

Responsible for ad hoc reports and projects as required.

Perform in a leadership role on projects to facilitate the development of less experienced analysts.

Manage and participate in all upgrades and changes to Energy Trade and Risk Management applications.

Monitor the risk systems, report problems and assist in troubleshooting. This includes after-hours support of the End-of-Day (EOD) process.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years’ experience in energy trading applications.

Knowledge of power trading and operations.

Experience using SQL and PLSQL.

Strong knowledge of IT concepts, practices, controls and procedures.

Proficiency using Windows and the complete MS Office Suite.

Effective written and verbal communication skills with technical and business personnel.

Capacity to manage multiple tasks, solve complex problems, and work under pressure.

The ability to work across functions and within teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical personnel.

Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Aligne’s Global Back Office (GBO) and knowledge of SAP interface.

Prior experience with FIS (formerly known as Sungard) products.

Ability to foster and participate in a productive team environment.

Flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving.

Experience with Powershell.
