Official Title: Specialist, State 1 Childcare Program - Co-locationSalary:

Administrative Offices - Mid Wilshire, Los AngelesSchedule:

Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Primary duties:Responsible for the delivery of Stage 1 Childcare services to participants and as needed at various co-location sites. Provide prompt communications services.

Other Duties:

Provide referrals to families requesting childcare resources. Provide information regarding subsidized childcare.Maintain working knowledge of California Statewide Welfare System (Cal SAWS) and CC4. Update Cal SAWS and CC4 as needed.Verify parent’s eligibility and enroll them in CalWORKs Childcare.Create, compile and verify all program reports, files and other documentation.Offer technical assistance to individual parents and childcare providers.Support the External Affairs/Communications team in outreach activities.Assist with creating and the distribution of materials on choosing childcare.Track and document outreach efforts, data entry.Establish and maintain professional contacts with other agencies, including Department of Social Services, R&R agencies and Community Care Licensing.Coordinate special projects as assigned by supervisors. Assist Stage 1 Manager as required.Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

BA in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Psychology or related field, preferred.Two years direct experience in the child development field. Experience in an R&R or an Alternative Payment Program, preferred.Strong organizational skills, self-starter, can-do attitude, and positive approach.Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.Ability to work effectively with people from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds. Sensitivity to the needs of children and families.High level of oral and written communication skills.Bilingual (English/Spanish/Armenian/Russian) is preferred.High proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and client database software.Must possess a valid California driver’s license, have use of a motor vehicle and provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.Position requires some travel and evening and weekend work.Other duties assigned.
