Description

The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs, the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care.The NP will be the clinical coordinator for the Head and Neck Cancer Program (HNCP) which will include program development, patient outreach, care coordination, patient education, and individual Survivorship clinics after sign off by the Chair of the department.The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals. Document services rendered.Salary range: $84.82- $121.13/hourlyQualifications

MSN/DNP with AG-ACNP NP (Adult Acute Care) Specialty - requiredNational Certification in NP Specialty - requiredCA RN and CA NP license - requiredBLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association - requiredState of California NP, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Certification (i.e. ANCC) Additional: NPI #, DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURESMinimum of 2 years of critical care RN experience - PreferredAbility to utilize Excel, Word, and other software programs - RequiredAbility to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical, and academic personnel - RequiredSkill in working independently and following through with minimum direction - RequiredAbility to set priorities - RequiredDemonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed, and grammatically correct correspondence - RequiredDocument patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner - RequiredNPI: less than 6 months expNP2: 6+ months exp or greater
