The CCRC will serve the Central Coast CERF region comprised of six counties: Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, and Ventura.JOB SUMMARYThe Financial Analyst serves as the principal advisor, in consultation with the CCRC Director, on fiscal and business operations for a large and dynamic grant, independently performing complex budgetary analysis using campus financial systems to formulate recommendations.APPOINTMENT INFORMATIONBudgeted Salary:

Never or RarelyJOB DUTIES60% - Manage and Track Subrecipients for Grant ImplementationWork closely with the Office of Sponsored programs to ensure subrecipients are set up correctly.Review monthly subrecipient invoices for accuracy and proper backup documentation.Maintain subrecipient budgets to ensure expenses are allowable and within budget guidelines.Track invoice payments and communicate with subrecipient regarding budget questions.Independently coordinate, develop, and implement an ongoing detailed review and analysis of the monthly budgets.20% - Monitor projects' expenditures and process external partners invoices for paymentProvide support to the CCRC Director to review and resolve discrepancies.Perform reconciliation of charges on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Gather information, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial and resource plans.15% - Assist with grant implementation and managementEnsure that the appropriate internal controls are addressed and maintained.Review compliance conditions of the grant.Analyze and provide reports for varied and complex budgetary, financial, and resource projects.5% - Collaborative and Educational Partnership Center SupportSupport the implementation of the Collaborative and EPC with fiscal knowledge and tasks.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience and/or training.Thorough knowledge of finance policies and fund accounting.Proven interpersonal skills with a strong service orientation.Effective organization processes and critical thinking skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's Degree in related area.Experience and knowledge of fund accounting in higher education.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTSelected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of California.SAFETY STATEMENTAll UCSC employees must understand and follow job safety procedures.EEO/AAThe University of California is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
