Assistant Vice President - Allied Health Underwriter
to join our
Sompo North America Healthcare
team in Chicago, IL. The Underwriter will have a thorough understanding of Sompo’s strategies and appetites and will utilize internal and external data to make appropriate risk decisions. The Underwriter is responsible for the profitable growth of an assigned book of business, working with miscellaneous healthcare facilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Underwriting miscellaneous healthcare, including Healthcare Professional Liability, General Liability, and other ancillary lines for primary, Umbrella, and Excess risks.Evaluating individual risk characteristics and determining capacity, attachment point, terms, and pricing.Fostering and utilizing expertise within the company, including claims, actuarial, and business development.Maintaining and enhancing existing broker relationships and developing new relationships within the Midwest region.Driving effective relationship management and customer activities to build trust and facilitate negotiations.Identifying cross-sell opportunities and partnering with other underwriters to deliver comprehensive insurance solutions.Qualifications:
Established relationships with Retail and Wholesale Network.Minimum of 7 years of Professional lines Underwriting Experience.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.Sompo International offers a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience.At Sompo International, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
