full-time AmeriCorps service position

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.

What will you do?

The Faith Relations Coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening faith-based relationships through planning, coordinating, and implementing projects and programs and recruiting volunteers in partnership with area faith partners. The strategic relationships with faith-based congregations, schools, and other faith-based organizations help Habitat L.A. identify areas where housing and community development solutions can intersect with identified needs. The Faith Relations Coordinator will especially help develop partnerships in newer parts of the Habitat LA service area and conduct outreach for programs using an equity lens.Help schedule and attend regular meetings and speaking engagements with clergy, mission's leaders, and congregations. They will educate audiences about the mission and vision of Habitat LA, share information about our various programs, and encourage volunteer engagement.Recruit, train, schedule, and recognize faith-based volunteers.Build faith-based relationships in the community to grow the overall faith volunteer base and advance faith-based individual and group partnerships without soliciting funding.Market within the faith community to recruit new volunteers and develop events and opportunities for faith volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat LA.Respond to phone calls, emails, and correspondence from staff and faith-based partners and maintain records of faith-based partnerships, correspondence, and history in the Raiser's Edge.

This position will focus on volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
