The Senior Technology and Network Specialist is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of our extensive technology infrastructure. They ensure the security and privacy of our data, and manage our network, servers, and VOIP systems. With a strong focus on Cisco and Meraki network equipment, they are proficient in cloud-based services and automation. Their advanced problem-solving skills and keen awareness of interconnected systems are essential to our district's technological advancement, enhancing educational experiences for students and operational efficiency for staff.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.Five years’ experience working with computer networks, including IP routing, and switching.Proficiency in programming and configuring Cisco routers, switches, and Meraki network equipment.Strong knowledge of network design and maintenance in a K-12 school district setting.Familiarity with Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco ISE for network security.Expertise in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and PowerShell scripting.Proficiency in Windows Server and Active Directory management.Experience with cloud-based services such as Google Workspace, Azure Active Directory, and Intune.Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange email systems and Microsoft 365 administration.Knowledge of VOIP management and configuration.Experience with Verkada security cameras and InformaCast paging systems.Ability to work with confidential and proprietary information.Available on a 24/7 basis.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.Preferred certifications include:Cisco Certified Network ProfessionalCompTIA Network+CompTIA Security+Microsoft Certified Solutions ExpertDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical assistance and support to staff for technology equipment usage.Provide direct supervision, training, management, & support to Technology Field and Lead Technicians.Maintain an inventory of technology equipment, parts, and supplies.Diagnose and repair all technology equipment and systems.Establish and maintain network monitoring and security protocols using Palo Alto Firewalls, Meraki Cloud, Cisco ISE, SolarWinds Orion, Arctic Wolf, MS Defender stack, and similar tools.Ensure data security and privacy for student and staff information systems.Manage and prioritize technology projects and initiatives.Coordinate the ordering and procurement of parts, equipment, and supplies.Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange email systems and Microsoft 365 services.Configure and manage network equipment, including Cisco routers, switches, and Meraki devices.Perform backups and ensure data integrity using Veeam and/or Rubric backup solutions.Manage storage systems like Exagrid, NetApp, & Wasabi.Monitor and manage virtualization infrastructure using VMware vCenter.Integrate and manage cloud-based services like Google Workspace, Azure Active Directory, and Intune.Ability to use Microsoft's Office Suite.Manage VOIP systems, including configuration.Utilize ticketing systems for tracking and resolving IT requests.Configure and maintain Verkada security cameras for surveillance purposes.Configure InformaCast paging systems for effective communication.Manage fax machines on Cisco using ATAs.Maintain documentation, including procedures and system configurations.Develop and automate scripts using PowerShell and other scripting languages.Stay updated with the latest technology trends through ongoing learning and professional development.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support technology needs.Monitor networks 24/7 to ensure business continuity for students and staff.Perform any other related duties as assigned.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a non-union position.Salary to be negotiated.Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing.Travel between school locations throughout the workday as needed.Reports to Chief Technology Officer.This description may change at any time.Position Type:
