Director of Ginghamsburg Christian Preschool and Childcare Center

Accountable To:

Business Director

Position Goals:

Ginghamsburg Preschool and Childcare Center Director ensures that children, infants through age 12 years old, and their families receive care that exceeds expectations in providing a safe environment and academic preparation, promotes Christian values, enhances character development and nurtures individual strengths and talents.

Ginghamsburg Preschool and Child Care Center Director will be knowledgeable and uphold all of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services rules and regulations for a licensed center. The Director will continue the Step Up to Quality Program.

Education/Experience:

Degree in early childhood or education-related field ( bachelor’s degree preferred).

Experience working in a multiple-staff management organization.

Three years of supervision/management/leadership experience.

Position Requirements:

Must complete a non-conviction statement/background check.

Must hold current CPR and first aid certification.

Child abuse and communicable disease training.

Must complete Child and Adult Care Food Program Training (CACFP.)

Knowledge of the Title XX Program.

Knowledge of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Rules and Regulations.

Understanding of Step Up to Quality and Obtaining Stars.

Knowledge of ACSI Accreditation.

Must be or become a member of Ginghamsburg Church.

Skills:

Effective/proven leadership.

Exceptional communication, planning and organizational skills.

Experience in computer software including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Data Entry.

Experience in or willingness to learn ProCare and Ohio Child Licensing & Quality Systems (OCLQS.)

Experience and knowledge of early childhood development and effectively guiding student behavior.

Ability to respond quickly to situations that require immediate attention and solutions.

Strong problem solving skills.

Responsible For:

Providing vision for Ginghamsburg Christian Preschool and Childcare Center within our current Family Ministry.

Compliance of Ohio State Licensing Rules and Regulations.

Compliance of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP.)

Compliance of Title XX Regulations.

Maintain ACSI Accreditation.

Maintain compliance and updates of OCLQS.

Ohio Child Care Resource Referral Association (OCCRRA) professional development annual training.

Assisting with recruitment, hiring, supervision and discipleship of all preschool and childcare staff.

Maintaining staff schedules including attendance, breaks and overtime.

New hires 90-day reviews.

Annual performance review preschool employees.

Completing payroll time-sheets bi-weekly.

Conducting formal and informal classroom observations.

Providing monthly staff development and in-service opportunities.

Organizing special events for families.

Grant writing toward continued educational planning and funding.

Maintaining daily center operation responsibilities.

Timely written and verbal communication with ministry and Center staff.

Implementing content standards, lesson plan and curriculum reviews, best teaching practices.

Developing an annual budget, weekly business report, and monthly narrative.

Maintaining the financial health of the center through review of revenue projections vs actual income.

Collecting tuition payments and ensuring that past due accounts are collected weekly.

Completing daily purchase orders on all approved expenditures.

Oversee purchasing center and classroom supplies as needed.

Participation in Ginghamsburg leadership training and staff development.

Development of a personal plan for continued growth.

Lead and communicate with the Preschool Advisory board at a minimum through bi-monthly Advisory Board meetings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
