The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations.The Principal Systems Engineer will work in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects. In this role, the candidate will be flexible and able to support various tasks on short notice.Essential Functions:Provide use case briefing development support to junior systems engineering team members.Adhere to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products.Focus on supporting the development and review of interface documents, system/subsystem requirements, and Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development.Actively participate in Agile development efforts, including iteration planning and agile team leadership.Analyze high-level needs and define a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements.Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles.Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers.Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles.Experience decomposing requirements from parent-level to lower system/subsystem-level requirements.Experience developing system engineering artifacts.Must be able to write and implement engineering plans within a project.Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD issued secret security clearance at the time of application.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working within an Agile development environment.Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense.What We Can Offer You:
