This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent will direct the work of subordinate organizations and provide technical guidance and supervisory oversight for a staff performing work that involves administering, developing, and supporting IT systems and services, requiring knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods, e.g., data storage, software applications, and networking.Responsibilities:

As a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST, you will:Exercise broad, overall responsibility for the formulation, development, administration, and execution of NARA's IT policies, programs, and projects.Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate Information Services activities requiring expertise in command and control, communications, and NARA requirements for internal and external customers.Assign work to lower-level supervisors and/or employees, establishing overall project goals and priorities and evaluating results through formal reviews, briefings, reports, and personal observation.Establish and maintain personal contacts with senior-level management officials, stakeholders, private contractors, and the public.Provide contract performance oversight responsibility when contract work is performed within or in support of the Division/Branch and/or functions.Requirements:The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector, or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. A one-year probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation and a Declaration for Federal Employment. Federal law requires verification of identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.Qualifications:You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement:SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:Developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies for planning and delivery of IT services.Overseeing the work of others in relation to administering, developing, or supporting information technology (IT) systems or services.Applying IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to provide guidance, technical advice, and recommendations to management on information technology policies and procedures.In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies:Attention to Detail:

Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.Customer Service:

Works with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations.Oral Communication:

Effectively expresses information to individuals or groups, taking into account the audience and nature of the information.Problem Solving:

Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.Additional Information:
