We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate nursing leader to serve as our Director of Nursing, RN for our quaint Skilled Nursing Facility in Freelandville, IN. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Skilled Nursing Facility experience and be an integral team player with experience in ensuring quality resident care is being delivered, survey readiness, and team building.Job Summary:The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the nursing department. The DON ensures the highest standards of patient care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the effective operation of nursing services. This role involves planning, organizing, and overseeing nursing activities and programs, and working closely with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and staff performance.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:

Provide strategic direction and leadership for the nursing department.Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures related to nursing care.Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.Manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.

Patient Care Quality:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established standards and best practices.Oversee the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring they meet the needs of patients and comply with regulations.Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements as needed to enhance care quality.

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.Ensure the nursing department adheres to all state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies.Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, patients, and families to address concerns and provide information.Facilitate effective communication and teamwork within the nursing department and across the facility.

Operational Efficiency:

Oversee the scheduling and staffing of nursing personnel to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.Implement and manage nursing-related technologies and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.Address and resolve any issues related to nursing operations, including patient care, staffing, and resource allocation.

Professional Development:

Promote and support ongoing education and professional development for nursing staff.Stay current with advancements in nursing practices and healthcare trends.Encourage and facilitate a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the nursing department.

Qualifications:Education:

Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferredLicensure:

Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of IndianaExperience:

Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, including 1 year in a managerial or leadership role.Skills:

Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.In-depth knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.Proficiency in healthcare management software and tools.
