Role Overview

This position is responsible for working closely with the CFO and other senior leadership to establish financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The Vice President of Corporate Finance also oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/payable, payroll and risk management. The successful candidate will proactively recommend solutions related to financial reporting, profitability, control improvements, technology-aided efficiencies, and structure for the overall team.

Position Requirements

Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership for Corporate Finance in support of all Meeder lines of businessParticipate in the development of new business opportunities as well as calculate profitability analysis for existing business lines & productsPartner with Human Resources in the design, implementation and administration of wage incentives, commissions and salariesEngage with business line leaders to collaborate, implement and communicate budgeting procedures with all departmentsLead the development, management and improvement of operational and financial controls and proceduresGenerate, analyze and present monthly financial statements and forecasts to senior leadershipDevelop and maintain system of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization and minimize risk and assure consistent reporting of operational performanceOversee annual independent audits, third party valuation and filing of tax returnsOversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and banking activities of the organization to ensure adequate cash flow, revenue recognition & expense recordingLead, mentor and develop the Corporate Finance team

Skills RequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other technical degreeMinimum 10 years progressive experience in financial management/leadership positionsStrong knowledge of accounting GAAP and corporate taxationFinancial Services industry experienceStrong math and analytical skillsPrior experience leading, developing and growing a team of direct and/or indirect reportsCPA preferred
