Come join us and become a Champion with GAINSCO.We are seeking an experienced and driven Actuarial Manager to lead a team of Actuarial Analysts in delivering high-quality pricing analyses and strategies that support our company’s growth. This role is crucial in executing pricing and product strategies, driving profitability, and collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization. The Manager will also take on Senior Analyst responsibilities for strategic states and lead cross-functional projects that directly impact business success.What does a ACTUARIAL MANAGER - PRICING do at GAINSCO?Lead a team of 2-4 analysts responsible for in-depth data analysis, pricing strategies, and recommendations for our book of business.Oversee the creation and evaluation of quarterly rate level indications, collaborating with Product and Corporate teams on pricing strategies.Prepare and deliver actuarial rate filings and briefings, ensuring the use of sound pricing data and actuarial principles.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product and IT, to meet key deadlines and improve pricing decisions.Maintain Senior Analyst responsibilities for key strategic states and provide valuable input into state pricing strategies.Exemplify strong leadership within the actuarial team and across the company.Coach, counsel, and develop direct reports to enhance their skills and career growth.Foster a positive work environment that motivates and engages team members.Manage staffing needs, recruitment, and onboarding of new team members.Collaborate with HR on employee performance management and disciplinary actions when necessary.Partner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals and complete projects on time.Drive special projects and support company initiatives that require actuarial expertise.What is required?Education:Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.Certifications/ Licenses/ Designations:Within 1 exam of ACAS required.Experience:Minimum of 6+ years of relevant Property/Casualty Insurance actuarial work experience, with a preference for personal auto pricing experience.Minimum of 2 years of management/supervisory experience required.Proven experience mentoring, coaching, and training junior Actuarial Analysts.Advanced mathematical skills and proficiency in Excel, SAS, VBA, SQL, R, Python, or other comparable programming languages.Strong application of actuarial rate-making principles and techniques.Other skills and abilities:Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating on key projects.Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally to build strong working relationships.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a focus on accuracy and detail.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to stakeholders.Well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.High learning agility and adaptability in handling multiple projects simultaneously.What else do you need to know?Excellent benefits package: medical & dental (Basic plan FREE), vision insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance.Parental Leave Policy.401K + Company Match.PTO Plan + Paid Company determined Holidays.**Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity**All offers are contingent upon a successful background investigation (including employment, education, criminal and DMV verification- when applicable) and a pre-employment drug test with results satisfactory to GAINSCO.GAINSCO is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
