Principal Application Research Engineer - Unitary System/Ducted SplitLocation:

Temporary Remote Work in Greater Dallas Area, TXResponsibilities

Research and understand the current and emerging technologies used in residential and light commercial HVAC products.Collaborate with product strategy and regulatory teams to understand the internal and external technology drivers and layout a forward technology development roadmap.Coordinate front-end technical development from concept definition to detailed engineering requirements using tools and processes including project scoping, simulations, test plans, engineering builds, etc.Work as a Subject Matter Expert with business unit and functional teams across the organization to align on all project requirements and bring to the design team the inputs required to execute the project.Develop and support the knowledge growth of the engineering team, providing thermodynamic, heat transfer, and refrigeration guidance and training.Guide the engineering team towards the design solutions and technologies that will be used in the project by performing testing and/or conducting technical analyses to optimize the design and meet regulatory and consumer requirements.Provide technical coaching and mentoring to a team of design engineers during the development and execution of projects.Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.At least 10 years of experience in refrigeration/HVAC product development.Excellent knowledge and working experience in systems, sub-systems, and major components of residential and light commercial HVAC products.Hands-on experience in product design and development while working on new product development, VAVE, productivity, or quality improvement projects.Capable of working independently on multiple projects and coaching or mentoring other engineers on products and processes.Passionate about staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with, and learning new technologies.Rarely required to be in a warehouse environment.May have to lift 50 pounds or less.Occasional international travel (#J-18808-Ljbffr
