Our Function

The core responsibilities of the Guidelines and Restrictions team for are: 1) monitoring investment guideline compliance for institutional separate accounts (ERISA and non ERISA), commingled trusts, mutual funds and hedge funds, and 2) performing daily/ weekly/monthly forensics to ensure that firm's trading activities comply with Jennison's policies and procedures and all regulations. The team works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment that is research oriented and places high emphasis on the importance of developing effective and positive working relationships with investment staff as well as other internal colleagues.

This role sits in the Portfolio and Trading Compliance team supporting equities and will be primarily responsible for monitoring current holdings and daily trading activity against client guidelines, restrictions, internal policies/procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Your Impact

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Daily monitoring of equity portfolio guidelines and restrictions using Jennison's proprietary compliance monitoring system
  • Participating in the new account setup and guidelines coding/change process
  • Liaise with Portfolio Managers and traders to help resolve portfolio exceptions and questions related to trading activity.
  • Lead participant on system enhancements, upgrades, implementations that impact compliance
  • Reviewing initial and secondary offerings for broker restrictions and ERISA eligibility
  • Preparing client reporting including monthly and quarterly compliance reports for mutual funds clients
  • Working closely the Client Advisory Group, Legal, Portfolio Management and Technology in onboarding client accounts and developing internal and external reports for clients


Your Required Skills

Your required skills must include:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940 and other regulatory requirements and/or experience with foreign regulations
  • Solid working knowledge and understanding of capital markets; experience with equity instruments; proprietary or vendor compliance systems
  • Ability to operate in a both transactional and strategic way Ability to develop effective working relationships with investment staff and make articulate recommendations to department managers regarding potential solutions to issues
  • Established ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize time effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

The base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
